Scenery along the Tranz Alpine Train Line
I was on a whirlwind tour to New Zealand with Trafalgar and loved every minute of it. It was a week long tour, but it took two days to get there so we only had 5 days to tour both Islands. We used various modes of transportation such as 3 or 4 different sizes of planes, a helicopter, a train, a bus, an old trolley, in a jet boat (we did complete turns very fast it was awesome), on a cruise ship, in a gondola, on a luge and ice climbing.
Mirror Lake on the way from Queenstown to Milford Sound.
The scenery was spectacular with mountains, sheep, flat land, fiords, ocean, glaciers, lakes and rivers. It was the time of my life and it was well worth it. I would go again in a minute. The people are friendly and it is a very clean country. The whole trip was just fabulous and I must say the flight from Milford Sound back to Queenstown was so breathtaking.
Queenstown and The Remarkables Mountains in the background - they were in the movie The Lord of the Rings
I saw The Remarkables where the Lord of the Rings was filmed, Milford Sound, Queenstown, Franz Josef Glacier, Arthur's Pass, the Glow Worm Caves, Christchurch, Rotorua and the thermal springs, Auckland and we enjoyed a traditional Maori Hangi dinner and show.
Fox Glacier - We landed on it during our helicopter ride
I would highly recommend anyone go to New Zealand and if anyone has any questions about New Zealand, I would be more than happy to talk to them.
