Iceland is an island located in the North Atlantic Ocean between Europe and Greenland. Iceland is volcanically and geologically active on a large scale; this defines the landscape. Today, Iceland has some of the world's highest levels of economic and civil freedoms. In 2007, Iceland was ranked as the most developed country in the world by the United Nations' Human Development.
They say "if you get lost in the forest.....stand up". Seeing as Iceland is a volcanic island, the vegetation and trees take years to grow and the trees never grow really tall. Experience almost 24 hrs of daylight or the opposite.....no day light. What a fantastic destination with wonderful people.
