G. Stewart Travel Services Ltd. is a family owned and operated, full-service travel agency founded in 1974 by R. Gary Stewart who retired in 1993. Our head office is located at 232 Brock Street, Peterborough, Ontario. We are a limited company with two partners, G. Scott Stewart, ACTC, President, with over 21 years in the company, and Dana Merrett, General Manager with over 10 years.
As a full-service travel agency, we hold both retail and wholesale licenses, NGRS with the Alcohol and Gaming commission of Ontario, and are registered with the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), IATA, OMCA, CLIA, NTA, ACTA. We specialize in corporate and leisure travel, conference, and convention and incentive travel, as well as group tours and motor coach charters. Each operates as an independent division within the company.
In 1994, we became an associate of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, a global travel company servicing clients in 127 countries and offering more than 5,000 locations worldwide. With this partnership, our strategy is to service our clients locally, nationally, trans-border and globally. This solid base has allowed us to significantly expand our professional staff, customer base and state-of-the-art
technology while providing the ability to create new controlled-growth opportunities for our company. CWT/Stewart Travel has been honored by Carlson Wagonlit Canada for our "commitment, leadership, service levels, performance and dedication" in 1996, 1998, 2002 and as late as 2007 as the number one associate office in Canada.
Our head office in Peterborough employs 19 full and part-time staff and four tour escorts on contract CWT/Stewart Travel also owns full-service travel agencies in Belleville, Ontario, with three full-time employees, Toronto, Ontario with three full-time employees, Barrie, Ontario with four full and part-time employees and we have home offices in Brighton, Ontario, Bowmanville, Ontario, Markham, Ontario, Thornhill, Ontario, Barrie, Ontario, Marmora, Ontario and Collingwood, Ontario. Current annual sales volume is $30 million, comprised of 50% leisure, 35% conference, incentive and corporate, and 15% group tour business.
